Out of the Office…

July 12, 2011

Sorry we have stepped out momentarily…

 It is only because The Effortless Chic is under construction and will return shortly, more chic than ever!

Thank you for your patience…

Men’s Day Wednesday {Get The Look}

July 6, 2011

Effortless summer style for men may not always seems so, well, effortless.  That is what I love about this look.  Navy chino, brown belt, relaxed button front shirt, and a cotton slip-on shoe.  Doesn’t sound that hard, right?

Cheap & Chic Feet…

July 5, 2011

The week before Aaron and I set out for Thailand, I had two wardrobe consultations with new clients.  Somewhere between Los Angeles and Tokyo I found myself thinking about how many of the questions women have regarding their wardrobe are universal.  The one burning question that I hear more than any other is this: What am I missing?

While there are a number of things on my closet essentials list, the single item most women are lacking is a great pair of round toe pumps.  Tall enough to wear out, but still appropriate for day.  Classic.

 I love these J.Crew ‘Mona’ pumps for just this purpose.  Beautiful round toe shape made of supple leathers and suedes in saturated hues.   What more could you ask for?  Did I mention their striking similarity to the Christian Louboutin ‘Elisa’ pump?  All but identical for 1/3 of the price :)

Happy July!

July 2, 2011

I adore the fourth of July!    It is second only to Christmas in my book.  Low expectations, warm weather, and (a lot) of yummy food!  For the past couple of years Aaron and I have found ourselves in other countries during this most special holiday, but we have never let that stop us from celebrating!  This year we will be celebrating in true Thai style by lighting these paper lanterns and releasing them into the sky.  An interesting take on fireworks, no?

Fall Preview {They’re Back!}

June 29, 2011

I should begin by saying that I, too, will hold onto every last day of summer I can get my hands on and am in no rush for fall just yet.  That being said, I can’t help but mentally begin to plan my new fall wardrobe which will definitely include a pair of these:

That’s right.  They’re back!

Remember this post?  Buy a pair now for a great summer party dress and wear them into fall with your new flare jeans.
